Week 12 DraftKings CFB Main Slate Plays (Tue)

Tuesday night kicks off five straight nights of college football. MACtion is the ideal way to start off the week with fun matchups across the board. But as is the case with all three game slates, the DFS options are limited.

Let’s dig in…

Against the Spread Picks

Eastern Michigan (-4.0) vs Akron

Total Wagers

Akron vs Eastern Michigan (Over 39.0)
Western Michigan vs Northern Illinois (Under 55.0)

Quarterbacks

DeQuan Finn, Toledo vs Bowling Green State (DK: $8.8K | FD: $12.5K | O/U: 51.0 | Implied: 30.5)

DeQuan Finn has averaged 23.1 fantasy points per game, including a 31.28-point performance last week against Eastern Michigan. Finn is completing 65.8% of his passes for an average of 8.6 yards per attempt. He’s thrown for 2,008 passing yards and 18 touchdowns. While Finn is no longer the consistent running threat to provide a rushing production floor, he remains a capable producer through the air.

Finn takes on a Bowling Green defense that allows 191 passing yards per game and 1.7 passing touchdowns per game. They allow 17.7 fantasy points per game to opposing QBs. With Toledo being a double-digit favorite, expect Finn to get off to a fast start before the Rockets lean on the running game.

Rocky Lombardi, Northern Illinois vs Western Michigan (DK: $7.0K | FD: $9.0K | O/U: 55.0 | Implied: 30.0)

Rocky Lombardi is averaging 13.2 fantasy points per game, and he’s scored more than 20 fantasy points twice this season. He’s completing 58.2% of his passes for an average of 6.8 yards per attempt. He has 1,799 passing yards and nine passing touchdowns while also adding four rushing touchdowns.

Lombardi has the best matchup on the slate. Western Michigan allows 23.8 fantasy points to opposing QBs. They allow 248.8 passing yards and 2.1 passing touchdowns per game. Lombardi never feels like a safe option, but in the highest total game on the slate, backing the favorite with a positive matchup in the best play for DFS lineups.

Alternatives

Hayden Wolff, Western Michigan vs Northern Illinois (DK: $6.9K | FD: $9.7K | O/U: 55.0 | Implied: 25)

Running Backs

Peny Boone, Toledo vs Bowling Green (DK: $7.7K | FD: $11.0K | O/U: 51.0 | Implied: 30.5)

Peny Boone has been one of the most consistent RB options for DFS since beginning conference play. He’s scored more than 20 points in four out of his last five games, including 41.8 fantasy points against Eastern Michigan. Boone has 1,042 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns. He’s added 165 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Boone faces a Bowling Green defense that allows a 47% rushing success rate, which ranks 114th nationally. For the year, they have allowed 137.5 rushing yards and 1.1 rushing touchdowns per game. Opposing RBs have scored 23.4 fantasy points per game, including 14.7 to opposing RB1s. Boone will be a highly-owned back for a good reason. For cash lineups, he should be the centerpiece.

Jalen Buckley, Western Michigan vs Northern Illinois (DK: $7.5K | FD: $10.0K | O/U: 55.0 | Implied: 25)

Jalen Buckley has scored an average of 30.15 fantasy points over the last two games, which is largely buoyed by two touchdowns in each game. For the season, he has 886 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. He’s also added 139 receiving yards on 15 receptions.

Buckley has a difficult matchup against Northern Illinois. The Huskies defense allows 23.1 fantasy points to opposing RBs, including 13.8 to RB1s. For Buckley, the play is based on his volume. While he’s unlikely to maintain the 24 rush attempts he’s averaged over the last two games, he’s used in the passing game enough to avoid being game-scripted out of the game.

Antario Brown, Northern Illinois vs Western Michigan (DK: $6.7K | FD: $9.4K | O/U: 55.0 | Implied: 30.0)

Antario Brown has averaged 16.6 fantasy points per game, including six games over 10 fantasy points this season. Brown has been heavily utilized over the last two games. He has been given an average of 20 attempts.

Brown faces a Western Michigan defense that has allowed 4.4 yards per carry and 148.6 rushing yards per game. Opposing RBs score an average of 30.3 fantasy points per game, including 20.5 points to RB1s. With one of the best matchups on the slate, Brown is one of the top RB plays.

Jaylon Jackson, Eastern Michigan vs Akron (DK: $5.6K | FD: $6.0K | O/U: 39.0 | Implied: 21.5)

Jaylon Jackson has 456 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns while also scoring one touchdown through the air. He’s averaging 11.0 fantasy points per game and has scored more than 10 fantasy points four times this season.

Jackson faces the easiest rushing matchup on the slate. The Akron defense has allowed 32.4 fantasy points to opposing RBs, including 23.4 points to opposing RB1s. They allow 148.6 rushing yards and 1.8 rushing touchdowns per game. With a low-total, Vegas is projecting a slower-paced, run-focused offense. With Samson Evans questionable, that would favor Jackson’s production and make him a strong DFS play.

Alternatives

Samson Evans, Eastern Michigan vs Akron (DK: $5.5K | FD: $6.4K | O/U: 39.0 | Implied: 21.5)

Jacquez Stuart, Toledo vs Bowling Green State (DK: $6.2K | FD: $6.7K | O/U: 51.0 | Implied: 30.5)

Zahir Abdus-Salaam, Western Michigan vs Northern Illinois (DK: $4.6K | FD: $5.7K | O/U: 55.0 | Implied: 25.0)

$4.5K-or-less options

Drake Anderson, Akron vs Eastern Michigan (DK: $4.3K | FD: $5.5K | O/U: 39.0 | Implied: 17.5)

Receivers

Trayvon Rudolph, Northern Illinois vs Western Michigan (DK: $6.5K | FD: $9.2K | O/U: 55.0 | Implied: 30.0)
Kacper Rutkiewicz, Northern Illinois vs Western Michigan (DK: $5.2K | FD: $5.6K | O/U: 55.0 | Implied: 30.0)

Trayvon Rudolph has scored more than 10 fantasy points in four out of his last five games, including more than 24 points in each of the last two. Over the last three games, Rudolph has averaged 10.3 targets per game. For the season, he has 439 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He’s also proven to be a key piece of the Northern Illinois offense with his 16 rush attempts.

Kacper Rutkiewicz is expected to return after missing four games with injury. In his last six games played, he’s averaged 6.66 targets per game, and he’s averaging 11.3 fantasy points. For the season, Rutkiewicz has 313 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Northern Illinois has the best matchup for a WR on the slate. The Western Michigan defense allows 43.4 fantasy points to opposing WRs, including 20.4 fantasy points to opposing WR1s. They allow 248.8 passing yards and 2.1 passing touchdowns per game. As a stack option with Lombardi, Rudolph is a strong piece of all lineups on the slate, and Rutkiewicz is a less expensive option to give flexibility for the rest of your lineup .

Harold Fannin, Bowling Green State vs Toledo (DK: $5.1K | FD: $7.5K | O/U: 51.0 | Implied: 20.5)

Harold Fannin is operating as the top receiver for the Falcons’ offense. He’s topped 90 receiving yards in each of his last two games and has averaged six targets per game. For the season, he’s averaged 4.4 targets per game and 11.8 fantasy points per game. He has four games with more than 10.0 fantasy points this year.

Fannin is taking on a Toledo defense that allows 4.9 fantasy points to opposing TEs, but they allow 28.5 fantasy points to opposing WRs. Toledo allows 172.9 passing yards and 0.9 passing touchdowns per game. Fannin's heavy utilization makes him a viable option in cash and GPP lineups.

Junior Vandeross, Toledo vs Bowling Green State (DK: $5.0K | FD: $7.8K | O/U: 51.0 | Implied: 30.5)

Junior Vandeross averages 10.0 fantasy points per game and is coming off an 18.1-point performance last week against Eastern Michigan. He holds a 22.1% market share of Toledo’s receiving yards and is averaging 13.9 yards per reception.

Most of the slate is relatively bad for WRs, so the top plays will come down to backing high total volume. The Bowling Green defense allows the second most fantasy points to WRs on the slate. Opposing WRs score 30.4 fantasy points, and WR2s score 9.7 fantasy points per game. Vandeross is a strong WR option on a shallow slate.
